You will have a trial speaking exam in January shortly after the Christmas holidays.
You will complete two role play tasks.
You will also make a 1 minute presentation on a topic of your choice and this will be followed up by questions on this topic.
You will answer questions on one further topic.

The topics that you choose from are:
House, home and daily routine; home and abroad; education, training and employment;social activites, fitness and health; media, entertainment and youth culture (including environmental issues).
A set of model questions and answer at foundation and higher level are attached.

12. Klasse.

Hier ist Ihre Aufgabe für den 10. Februar.

Games Convention: Die neuesten Spieltrends. Beantworten Sie die folgenden Fragen:

1. Warum  sind so viele Menschen nach Leipzig gefahren?
2. Was konnte diese Messe Eltern anbieten?
3. Warum sind Jugendliche Ihrer Meinung nach von Spielkonsolen so begeistert?
4. Was sind Iher Meinung nach die Gefahren von Computer- und Videospielen?

Obgleich Sie sich für “Ausbildung und Arbeit” entschieden haben, ist es eine gute Idee ein zweites Thema vorzubereiten , falls Sie das Bild nicht mögen. Ich schlage vor, Sie versuchen Antworten auf die Fragen auf Seite 12 im Buch “ Self Study Guide for Edexcel” vorzubereiten.

Grammatik

Das Verbum “ lassen”. Bitte die Uebungen D,E,F,G. Zeitgeist Grammatik Seite 53. ( CD benutzen).

Sehen Sie den Film “ Der Vorleser”, wenn möglich bevor Sie nach Afrika fahren.

 

11. Klasse. Schneearbeit!

 Year 11 German

Monday 23^rd January. Your practice German oral exam takes place in  Lessons 1 and 2.  A  schedule of individual interview times will be posted on the door of B36/37 and on this blog. You will be tested in alphabetical order.

1. Practise your 1 minute presentation and be ready for questions on the topic of Education, Training and Employment.
2. Practise all the role plays in the booklet entitled “ GCSE German( Higher) Speaking test revision materials.”
3. Practise answering questions on the topics At Home and Abroad, House, Home and Daily Routine, Media Entertainment and Youth Culture and Social Activities Fitness and Health.

You have several model answers:

• Your cards that you have been making during the course
• The CD and 4  side sheet that you were given for the summer holiday 2008
• www.langweb.co.uk/GCSEorals  has sophisticated answers at a higher level.
• www.klar.co.uk is also great for role play practice.( you will need your username and password)
• Further ideas in your booklet. “ GCSE German( Higher) Speaking test revision materials.”
• And of course good old Bitesize.

You have plenty of material. Drop by when you are next in school to pick up your folders Sigi and Alex, but you have plenty of other material, so don’t fret! I shall also be putting material on www.wheatleyparkblogs.co.uk/german so keep an eye on this site. Email me with any problems on cs7023@wheatley-park.oxon.sch.uk.

Tip: Spend most of the time on role plays and the conversation questions. The presentation is only a lead into the first topic, not a speech.

13.Klasse. Der Schnee verhindert das Lernen nicht!

Hallo, Hayley, Holly and Steph.

Wir haben wegen des Schnees 4 Deutschstunden verpasst. Eure A Levels werden doch nicht verschoben! Bitte, die folgenden Aufgaben machen!

1. Complete the A2 Listening Comprehension you were given on 30th January. Make a comprehensive list of vocabulary and expressions to learn.

2. Work on  Das Leben der Anderen coursework. Use the Filmheft to expand you ideas and vocabulary. Holly, Page 6 and 7 have important explanations about artistic conditions in the GDR. Hayley Page 20 has a chronology of the GDR from 1949 to 1990.  Move your plans forward, so that you have the introduction and plans for at least 2 further paragraphs in note form.

3. Abtreibung. Practise, practise practise expressing your opinions. I am attaching a page of model questions and answers on this and other topics for you to work on. Read and translate the section on Tierversuche.
